He completed a post-graduate year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he averaged 16.0 points and 4.7 rebounds before signing with Providence. Breed spent three seasons with the Friars from 2020-23, appearing in 80-plus games and averaging 4.3 points per game while shooting 36.7 percent from the field. He transferred to McNeese State for the 2024-25 season under head coach Will Wade and started strong with 17.5 points per game through his first two games before suffering a serious knee injury that ended his season. When Wade took the NC State job, Breed followed him to Raleigh, reuniting with his former coach and McNeese teammate Quadir Copeland for one final college season.
