Brycen Blaine is a junior guard and one of Charleston Southern's most reliable scorers at 18.2 points per game. He dominates the glass with 7.3 rebounds per game.
Brycen Blaine has taken one of the more winding paths to becoming a star in the Big South. The 6-5 guard from Richmond, VA began his career at James Madison before injuries derailed his time there. He resurfaced at Gulf Coast State, where he shot 42.7 percent from three, then transferred to Charleston Southern for 2025-26. The results have been remarkable. In just his second collegiate start, Blaine exploded for 42 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, and just one turnover against The Citadel — a performance CSU called historically rare. He has since earned Big South Player of the Week honors three times, including a 23-point, five-three-pointer outing at Richmond. Averaging 18.2 points and 7.3 rebounds through 21 games, the junior has given the Buccaneers a second star-caliber option alongside Sumler and a genuine Big South award candidate.
