Originally from Senegal, Salane moved to the United States in 2022 and attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia and Stafford High School in Texas during his prep career. Before joining the Sun Devils, he played 10 games for the Lugano Tigers in the Swiss Basketball League, averaging 7.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocked shots, while posting even stronger numbers with the U23 squad. He is one of five international players who joined Arizona State for the 2025-26 season.
