Daylon Dickerson is a junior forward who provides scoring punch off the bench, averaging 5.3 points in 13.8 minutes per game. He takes care of the ball with just 0.9 turnovers per game.
Dickerson's path to Division I basketball runs through a college football program. Recruited by UMBC out of Kaufman High School in Texas — where he averaged 18.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists and earned two-time All-District and All-State recognition — he instead chose to redshirt with the SMU football team in 2022. After deciding basketball was his true calling, Dickerson transferred to McLennan Community College in Waco, where he averaged 16.8 points on 55.6 percent shooting and 9.0 rebounds to earn All-NTJCAC honors in 2023-24. UMBC assistant coach Danny Lawson, who had recruited him out of high school, reconnected and brought him to Baltimore County, where Dickerson has settled in as a reliable reserve forward.
