Dion Brown built his reputation at the mid-major level before stepping up to bigger stages. A native of Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Brown prepped at Monument Mountain High School before finishing at Vermont Academy. He began his college career at UMBC, where he earned America East All-Rookie team honors as a freshman after averaging 7.7 points and 4.0 rebounds in 22 games. Brown exploded as a sophomore in 2023-24, averaging 19.0 points and 7.6 rebounds to earn first-team All-America East honors. His 21.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in conference play led the league, and he was one of just two Division I players 6-foot-3 or shorter to average at least 19 points and seven rebounds. That performance earned him a transfer to Boston College for 2024-25, where he appeared in ACC competition but saw a reduced role. Brown entered the portal again and committed to Saint Louis for his final season of eligibility in 2025-26, bringing his scoring ability and toughness to the Billikens.
