He transferred to Southern Illinois for 2024-25, averaging 14.0 points over five games before suffering a season-ending ACL injury against eventual national champion Florida. After recovering, Elliott joined coach Jason Hooten's staff at New Mexico State, bringing a proven scoring resume and a full-circle resume from junior college to multiple Division I stops.
