Guzman Vasilic is a sophomore guard from Montevideo, Uruguay, who became the first South American native in Cal Poly men's basketball Division I history when he joined the Mustangs' program. Before arriving at Cal Poly, Vasilic trained with the NBA Academy Latin America and spent his first collegiate year at Southeastern Oklahoma, where he redshirted. He went on to appear in 30 of 35 games for Cal Poly in 2024-25, making nine starts and averaging 5.2 points per game including a career-high 16 against CSUN. On the international stage, Vasilic represented Uruguay at the 2022 FIBA South American U18 Championship in Venezuela, averaging 10.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and posting an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double against Colombia. He was the only Uruguayan native in Division I men's basketball during the 2024-25 season.
