Isaac Taveras is a junior guard and one of Southern Miss's most reliable scorers at 15.3 points per game. He is a disruptive defender, averaging 2.5 steals per game.
A native of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Taveras played at South Plains Community College before spending the 2023-24 season at Fresno State, where he averaged 4.8 points in 10 minutes across 22 appearances for the Bulldogs. He transferred to Southern Miss with three years of eligibility remaining and has become a key piece of the Golden Eagles' frontcourt rotation when healthy, averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game before a hand injury sidelined him in December. He returned to action in February 2026 to help Southern Miss make a push through the back half of the conference schedule.
