Jacob Ross came to UConn after a winding recruitment that originally led him to Minnesota. The 6-5 forward from Bristow, Virginia signed with the Golden Gophers in October 2024 before requesting his release in late March 2025 and committing to the Huskies. A composite three-star prospect ranked in the top 200 nationally and the 31st small forward in his class by ESPN, Ross played his senior season at SoCal Academy in Los Angeles after previously attending Long Island Lutheran. He followed his older brother Jayden Ross to Storrs, and played on the AAU circuit with Team Melo and Team Loaded.
