Julius Mims is a senior forward and one of New Mexico State's most reliable scorers at 10.5 points per game. He dominates the glass with 9.0 rebounds per game. He takes care of the ball with just 1.0 turnovers per game. He has started all 23 games this season.
Julius Mims arrived at New Mexico State in 2025 as one of the most well-traveled frontcourt players in the WAC. The 6-9 forward from Billings, Montana, was a two-time all-state selection at Skyview High School and won the 2020 Gatorade Montana Boys Player of the Year award before launching his college career at North Idaho College, where he started all 24 games as a sophomore and averaged 16.9 points and 9.9 rebounds. He then spent a season at Idaho, leading the Vandals with 6.3 rebounds per game, shooting 66 percent from the field, and pacing the team with 33 blocks. That combination of finishing ability and interior presence made him an attractive transfer addition for coach Jason Hooten's rebuilding NMSU program, where he stepped into an immediate starting role.
