A product of Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he began his college career at Northeastern, appearing in 13 games as a true freshman in 2020-21. He then transferred to Indian Hills Community College, where he earned NJCAA Division I First Team All-America honors and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year after averaging 10.9 points and a team-best 6.2 rebounds while shooting 54.8 percent from the field. The 6-6 guard moved to Colorado, where he played two seasons for the Buffaloes. In 2023-24, Hadley started all but one of Colorado's 37 games, averaging 11.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.2 steals during one of the program's best seasons. He transferred to Louisville for the 2024-25 season under Pat Kelsey and elected to return for 2025-26 under the Diego Pavia eligibility ruling.
