Mabil Mawut is a freshman forward from Bor, South Sudan whose journey to Arizona spanned multiple continents. Born in Kenya and raised in Uganda, Mawut began playing basketball around age 13 and speaks three languages: an African tribal language, Luganda, and English. He developed his game at the NBA Academy in Senegal before moving to the United States to attend Our Savior Lutheran in New York for his junior and senior seasons, where he also played for the New York Lightning on the Nike EYBL circuit. Mawut arrived at Arizona as part of the Wildcats' heralded 2025 recruiting class and is expected to redshirt during the 2025-26 season to continue his physical development.
