Patrick Ngongba II is a sophomore center and one of Duke's most reliable scorers at 10.6 points per game. He adds 6.2 rebounds per game to go with his scoring. He takes care of the ball with just 1.3 turnovers per game.
Patrick Ngongba II stepped into a starting role at Duke as a sophomore after spending his freshman year behind 2025 first-round pick Khaman Maluach. The 6-foot-11 center out of Paul VI High School in Virginia was a five-star recruit ranked No. 19 overall and the No. 3 center in the 2024 class by ESPN. Ngongba chose Duke over Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan and UConn, drawn by Jon Scheyer's development pitch. He missed his entire senior high school season due to a foot injury requiring surgery but arrived in Durham with a 7-foot-4 wingspan and a versatile skill set featuring a left-shoulder jump hook, face-up shooting range and strong rim protection. As a freshman in 2024-25, Ngongba appeared in 30 games as a reserve, averaging about 4 points and 3 rebounds in 11 minutes per game on Duke's 35-win squad. With Maluach departing for the NBA, Ngongba has emerged as the Blue Devils' starting center this season.
