Theo Seng is a senior forward who has been a key part of Troy's rotation, averaging 13.0 points in 25 games. Troy does not rely on any single scorer — Theo Seng is one of 4 players averaging between 13.0 and 15.3 points. He adds 5.9 rebounds per game to go with his scoring. He takes care of the ball with just 1.0 turnovers per game. He has started all 25 games this season.
Theo Seng's path to Division I basketball is one of the more winding in college basketball. A Davis, California native who attended Davis Senior High School, Seng suffered an ankle injury that cost him the back half of his senior season and narrowed his recruiting options to San Francisco State at the Division II level. His freshman year was wiped out by COVID-19. He then transferred to Sacramento State, where his head coach retired after the first exhibition game of the 2021-22 season, limiting his development. Seng regrouped at Eastern Arizona College, where he averaged 16.6 points and 8.6 rebounds and was named All-ACCAC and all-region first team. That breakout caught the attention of Troy coach Scott Cross, who recruited Seng to Alabama. Now a senior, Seng is averaging 13.0 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting 51 percent from the floor and has contributed to one of the program's strongest seasons in years.
