Urban Klavzar had been on Todd Golden's radar for years, dating back to when Golden coached at San Francisco. The 6-1 Slovenian guard played professionally in Spain for Real Madrid's youth system, UCAM Murcia CB, and CD Estela Cantabria of the Primera FEB, Spain's second professional division, where he averaged 8.9 points while shooting 42.7 percent from three. He also represented Slovenia at the U20 European Championship, averaging 15.4 points on 37.5 percent from deep in seven appearances. Klavzar signed with Florida in August 2024 to fill the Gators' final scholarship spot, but spent months waiting on NCAA eligibility clearance before finally being declared eligible in November. As a freshman on the 2025 national championship team, he appeared in 26 games off the bench, averaging 3.2 points with 21 assists. Now a sophomore, Klavzar has taken on a larger role in the Gators' backcourt rotation.
