Frank Mitchell is a senior forward and one of St. Bonaventure's most reliable scorers at 16.2 points per game. He dominates the glass with 9.8 rebounds per game. He does his damage in the paint, not from the perimeter.
A Toronto native who spent much of his life playing hockey before switching to basketball at age 18, Mitchell briefly worked in construction before the COVID-19 pandemic's shutdown of job sites redirected him entirely to basketball. He began at Humber College in Toronto, where he averaged 14.5 points and 18 rebounds per game, won the 2022 CCAA National Championship and OCAA Provincial Championship, and was named OCAA Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. After sitting out the 2022-23 season due to NCAA transfer rules, he transferred to Canisius, where he averaged 12.1 points and 11.6 rebounds in 31 games — finishing fourth in the nation in rebounding — and earned second-team All-MAAC honors. He then committed to Minnesota, where he averaged 4.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in a limited role before transferring to St. Bonaventure for the 2025-26 season. The Bonnies recruited him over multiple Power 4 programs.
