Paulius Murauskas began his basketball career in Lithuania with BC Zalgiris-2, making his first-division debut at age 16 with BC Zalgiris. He played on loan with BC Nevezis during the 2021-22 season and BC Lietkabelis during the 2022-23 season, averaging 7.2 points per game with the latter. He also led the FIBA U18 European Championships in scoring at 20.7 points per game representing Lithuania. Murauskas signed with Arizona in the summer of 2023, appearing in 23 games as a freshman and averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds before entering the transfer portal. He transferred to Saint Mary's in April 2024 and broke out immediately as a sophomore, starting every game and finishing second on the team with 12.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while leading the WCC with 13 double-doubles. That earned him first-team All-WCC and Lou Henson Mid-Major All-American honors. As a junior in 2025-26, he has emerged as one of the top players in the country, averaging over 19 points per game.
