DaKari Spear is a 6-5 shooting guard with a 6-10 wingspan from The Colony, Texas, who transferred to Dynamic Prep in Dallas for his senior season. At The Colony, he averaged 22.7 points per game, earned Class 5A All-State honors, was named District 12-5A MVP, and tied the school's single-season scoring record with 770 points. Playing for Drive Nation on the Nike EYBL circuit, Spear averaged 22 points while shooting 43 percent from three. One of the biggest risers in the class, climbing 36 spots in the national rankings, he committed to Texas Tech under coach Grant McCasland in October 2025.
