Symon Ghai is a 7-3 center from South Sudan who left home at age 15, grew up playing soccer, and sold deer meat to help his family during dry seasons before taking up basketball. After attending St. John Vianney High School in Missouri, he transferred to The Academy of Central Florida. Ghai committed to Northwestern in October 2025.
