The consensus No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class, Tyran Stokes is a 6-7, 230-pound wing with a 7-foot wingspan who combines forward size with guard-level skill. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he played early prep ball at Notre Dame High in Sherman Oaks, California before transferring to Rainier Beach in Seattle for his senior season. On senior night, Stokes erupted for a career-high 63 points in a 107-38 win over West Seattle, breaking the school record, and led Rainier Beach to the Washington state championship. A McDonald's All-American, he plays for the Oakland Soldiers on the Nike EYBL circuit, where he averaged 19.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 44.7 percent from three. His recruitment came down to a two-team battle between Kansas and Kentucky heading into the spring signing period.
