The ASUN Conference, formerly the Atlantic Sun, was founded in 1978 and has evolved into a mid-major league spanning the Southeast and Florida. Liberty, Jacksonville, Florida Gulf Coast, Kennesaw State, North Alabama, Queens, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Austin Peay, Bellarmine, and Lindenwood form the current membership. Florida Gulf Coast's 2013 NCAA Tournament run — "Dunk City" under Andy Enfield — became one of March's most beloved stories, as the then-unknown Gulf Coast program dazzled with its high-flying, up-tempo style.
